Do you want to see God?

Matthew 5:8 "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God."

The blessing in verse 8 is heavenly.  The Bible teaches that no one has seen God at any time.  Moses saw the backside of God's glory.  He did not see God face-to-face.  The Disciples beheld the glory of Christ in the flesh.  Peter, James and John were given a brief glimpse of the glory of Jesus but no one has fully beheld the glory of God.  What does verse 8 mean?  I believe it has two applications.  I believe primarily it is speaking of Heaven.  I believe that only those whose heart has been washed in the blood of Jesus will behold the perfections of Heaven.  They shall behold a beauty not of this world.  A glory that will lead us to unceasing worship for all of eternity.  There is a second way to apply verse 8 which is in this life we can enjoy sweet fellowship with God as we abide in His love.  Do you want to see God?
