Judging Others

Matthew 7:1 Do not judge so that you will not be judged.

You can't judge me is echoing across our world today.  Christians and nonchristians alike quote Matthew 7:1.  What does it mean? Does this verse teach that we cannot judge anyone? The reality is that we judge people throughout the day.  If a stranger asks for your debit card and pin number, you would quickly make a judgment.  We make judgments regarding who babysits our children.  The issue is not judging for it is essential in this world to make decisions.  When you share the Gospel with a lost person, you are making a judgment. The judgment mentioned here is a harsh and condemning judgment.  It is a judgment without grace or mercy.  It is a judgment that betrays the grace that a Christian has received from God.  The Christian must use godly discernment as they walk in this world, but they should never. e harsh in their discernment.
