You Wil Be Judged

Matthew 7:2 For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you.

"For,' gives the reason we are not to be harsh in our judgment toward others.  Our harshness will be judged.  Our pride will result in judgment. Who is going to judge us for our harsh judgment? The world may judge us if our lives are lived without grace. I believe this verse is implying we will be judged by God in the way we judge others, or treat others. Do we criticize others because we think we are better than them? Do we think we are more Christian than others? The last part of verse 2 could be taken as a positive.  It might read something like this, "If we are gracious to others God will be gracious to us." Harshness begets harshness, and grace begets grace.  Matthew 7:1-6 is not commanding us not to ever judge, but it is calling us to be gracious in responding to the sins and faults of others.
