Your Brother's Eye

Matthew 7:4 Or how can you say to your brother, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye," and behold, the log is in your own eye?

The difference between verses 3 and 4 is action.  Verse 3 we have the disposition to judge others, but in verse 4 we actually act out prideful judgment.  How does this action look in your life or the life of Christians? I think it is done under the guise of spirituality.  We might say something like we need to pray for so and so about this or that.  We might even go to them and say I noticed this in your life and I want to help you There is a time and place to pray for and to encourage others but we should be careful about it.  I think we are easily deceived in this matter.  We think we are doing good, but our heart has deceived us.  Notice the tone in these verses, it is one of willful ignorance or a neglected ignorance.  We excuse our sin or we are unaware of it.  We fail to spend time asking God to show us our sins and faults.  To help others, we must spend time with Jesus so that He will sanctify us.
