God Is Able To Do More

Ephesians 3:20-21. Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever, Amen.

Ephesians 3:20 is our theme verse for the new church year.  2020 has been a difficult year for individuals, businesses, communities and churches.  It is easy to be discouraged because of what we can't do.  When we focus on our inability, we forget about God's ability.  The reality is that apart from God we can do nothing of eternal value.  We can do good things as it pertains to this world, but those things will not survive in the next age.  The Children of Israel spent 40 years wandering in the wilderness because they saw what they couldn't do, but didn't focus on what God was going to do.  King Saul lost his kingship because he focused on his ability not God's ability.  What opportunities have you missed because you focused on self, not God?  The theme for 2020-2021 is "Greater Than."  The point of the theme is a reminder that God is able to do more than we can imagine.  Circumstances are not gods.  People are not gods.  God is God.  God is able to use us in all kinds of situations.  Will you commit to follow Jesus in the new church year?
