God's Servant

Matthew 12:15-21

There are many titles which lead us to praise Jesus.  He is the King of kings.  He is the Lord of lords. He is the Lamb of God.  He is the Messiah.  He is the head of the church.  He is our Shepherd.  He is our Savior.  He is our friend.  He is the creator of this world.  He is the judge.  He is the redeemer.  He is our advocate.  He is 100 percent God.  He is 100 percent man.  Matthew 12:15-21 gives us another title of Jesus, "Here is my servant(v18)."  Jesus was sent by the Father to do the Father's will.  We rejoice that He obeyed the Father perfectly.  Verse 15 tells us that large crowds followed him.  Let us be thankful that Jesus did not allow the crowds to deter Him from the Father's appointed task to die for all who would believe.  Isaiah reveals that God the Father was pleased with God the Son.  Jesus will proclaim justice to all the peoples of this age.  He will act like a servant in the sense He will not shout or argue.  He will not break a bruised reed.  The end of the matter is that the nations will put their hope in God's Servant.  Who are you putting your hope in today?
