You Forgot the Bread

Matthew 16:5-12

When I go to the store it seems I always forget something.  There have been occasions that I have forgotten why I went.  What about you?  In our devotion today, the disciples had forgotten bread, but it appears they had forgotten something else.  Read the verses again and see if you can determine what they forgot.  Verse 6 may seem like a strange response from Jesus, but Jesus knew what they had forgotten.  He gave them a warning about the religious leaders teaching.  They were to beware of the hypocrisy of the Pharisees and Sadducees.  Jesus was using their forgetfulness to teach a greater lesson.  Did you discover what the disciples really forgot?  They forgot that Jesus is what they need.  We should beware of any religion that promotes human works over the works of Jesus Christ.

Thankful Thoughts:  Jesus is all you need.
